Garden Class

I have decided to teach a garden class for the homeschooled children in our area.  I was surprised at how many signed up so quickly!  I plan on REALLY teaching them about gardening not just throw a sunflower seed in a cup and call it a lesson.  My first class I am going to start some seeds tomatoes, peppers and eggplant.  I wanted to start with soil for our first lesson but the seeds MUST be started soon or we will be running behind in our season.

    Hi Rena-
Thanks for the link to your site. I to am going to teach a homeschooling group next week. We are going to learn about wintersowing and seeds to sow, then they are each getting heirloom bean seeds and will learn about the importance of seed saving techniques- the parents will get a info card about the beans (Cherokee Trail of Tears) and they can decide what they want to tell the children about the history of the seeds in their lessons.
