chiggers

Just a little FYI for you Southerners.  IT is NOT a good idea to lie in the dry grass on a warm sunny day. (even in Feb)  It is not a good idea to do this for ANY amount of time while your child rides his toy jeep around your body.  Apparently those skin biting  B-astards are still alive in Winter. Ask me how I know??

They are in the mite family.  People think they will bury under your skin but they don't they just bite and attach.  They are invisible to the human eye.  You have to use a cream to kind of smoother them.  The bites make you itch like crazy.   What good is grass in the south anyway?  You can't lay in it, you have to water it, cut it, feed it ....... we should plant tomatoes out there.  Can't get chiggers from tomatoes.

You can use a hair dryer set at high heat to blow on the insect bite. Get it to as hot as you can bear. The itch will go away for the whole day without medicine. This works like magic with any kind of skin itch.
