Artichokes

We ATE them for dinner!!  Yipppeeee.  I steamed them, and they took forever.  I steamed 4  big ones.  I think in the future I would not cook so many.  I grew this plant from seed.    It looked like this last year (the front one to the right)and I transplanted it to a larger spot.  In the new spot it multiplied and is full of chokes.  The second pic is of it this week.  I was told Artichokes and brussel sprouts did not grow here but alas that is so not true.  This is the first year to produce for me.  I am inspired to start more and probably turn that whole bed into and artichoke bed.  I did have a chicken update but I think my camera bit the dust.... maybe tomorrow.  Not like folks are pining for a chicken update

Too bad you had to eat them. They look so beautiful in the garden.

I enjoy artichokes. I cook them in a pressure cooker. It takes much shorter to cook.

HI. JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW THAT SOME OF US ARE WAITING ON THE EDGE OF OUR SEAT FOR A CHICKEN UPDATE. SAD, UH. NOT ONLY DO I THINK THEY ARE CUTE BUT I JUST PAID $4.00 FOR ALL GRAIN FED EGGS. I'M HOPING TO GET TO TRY SOME WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE. BESIDES MY DAUGHTER WOULD ENJOY FINDING HER OWN EGGS. YOUR CHOKES LOOKED GREAT.

My camera bit the dust but I just went and checked on them.  I know I will have more eggs then we will be able to handle so I see some free range, organic eggs in your future.  I will even let her come and hustle them away from the hens
