Roadtrip Ramblings

For the last 7 days I have been on the road (mostly). We sold our condo in Shalimar/Destin area and I took a overnight trip and packed it up. I unloaded that stuff, loaded up stuff for Abby's Skate camp had Abby's party then jumped back into the car and drove to Miami!! It has been a fun and crazy trip. I should be home Tuesday at some point. Here are some ramblings...
Overheard: (while driving to Florida)
Matt: "Abby this show is scary, I don't like it"
Abby: " I don't like it either"
ME!! ?? What show are you guys watching??
Abby: "Wellll it's Mickey and Minnie...they are reenacting Hansel and Gretel"
Me.... sighing deep relief and laughing!
Pondering:
Why is it that you can have 10 state paid workers all operating one shovel and you have to slow down to 55 but if you have 5 state prisoners the speed limit stays at 70?
Acceptance:
You know if you are at the beach and a 300lb woman walks by in a bikini (yes apparently they make them that big) then you should just let go and accept that woman all come in different shapes and sizes and that we should just embrace our big asses and enjoy the surf! I wish I had this theme when I was like 18. I would never put clothes on and would be naked all the time. I had to figure this out 2 children and 18 years later.
Bad ideas:
It is a bad idea to traverse the length of the mall when your 5 year old (ocd) decides on the way back that he does not want to step on the lines in the tile.. It was a very long walk.......
I have more but I need to pack up the car and drive to Orlando!
Pics of the trip (note the banked track)

Abby and Matt in the surf...

My goodness! You are evrywhere.
I hope your tomatoes, beans, artichokes--- are OK.
I am sure your chickens all miss you.

Overheard: That's just funny, I don't care who you are.
Pondering: State workers are more difficult to replace than prison workers. Lots of paperwork and beaurocracy. Prison workers are a dime a dozen. Literally.
Acceptance: Had to edit this one a number of times but the short of it is.... it's a fine theme and you should adopt it.
Bad Ideas: You have to work the OCD against them. Tell him that you might have left the door to the car unlocked and you need to get there quickly to make sure their dvd player is still there. Trust me... this works.
