Day 2
Our fishing plans were foiled by a hatching of Willow Flies. The fish have not been hungry for worms, they have been FEASTING on willow flies. Matthew is one busy boy. I did not realize to what extent Abby had been buffering his attention. I am exhausted. After the fishing incident fizzled (we tried twice) we decided to build a wooden car from a kit. This included painting, sanding, some screws and we added some weight to make it go faster. That project went pretty well except Matthew's insisting on watching the paint dry and repeatedly asking me "IS IT DRY YET"?... again again and again then again. I told him if he was really sweet I would teach play States and Capital BINGO. I have to tell you he is already hip to my tricks. He looked at me with a blank stare then shrugged his shoulders like that is so not working on me.
Today we went on a little Geocache (see entry below) I think I burned up $50.00 in gas finding it but we did find it. It was on a remote path off some new construction. I kept telling Matthew over and over we do not quit we will find it MOMMY NEVER GIVES UP. I told you the premise about finding the cache and then if you find trash you are supposed to bring it out. I am not sure about you but when I see black trash bag deep in the woods you know what I am thinkin.... (after late night pregnancy insomnia true crime tv) YEP I start thinking I do not like being one with nature I want to get out of this isolated spot off the beaten path. I know I should just walk over look in the bag and do the right thing and haul it out to a proper trash can. I can't do it just on the lottery chance that there could be a limb in that bag.....

You are the kind of mom every child should have.
