Well I am 11 days away from Road Trip 2008... Kinda scary, kinda exciting.  I am meeting my old high school running buddy Deidre (now using the grown up name Dee) in Kansas of all places.  We plan to meet with her child Onika (forgive me if I spelled it wrong Deidre)!  I found a neat children's exploration place and much to my surprise they have the exhibit  BODIES My Mom has been trying to get me to go for YEARS.  As a Mom of home school children I figure I best start some quick anatomy lessons.  I get out our new SPILL YOUR GUTS  GAME to play with Abby and Matthew then I do a quick lesson in a book I have on anatomy. Most of it was a review  as I am always trying to talk about the human body so we don't have those awkward moments where we have never used "those" words.  (you know the ones"  I am kissing Matthew goodnight and John asks him a question about the Pancreas (he heard me explaining to both children about Diabetes and how the Pancreas makes insulin.  If it is not working then you are a Diabetic.  John is trying to get Matt to say what illness is brought on if the Pancreas is not working.  I can tell by the look on Matthew's face that it the answer to the question was coming.... the light bulb comes on... and he says, "If your pancreas is not working then you have Di..... Dia you have ....... (at this point I am like yipppeee HE was listening)  then he shouts.  YOU HAVE DIARRHEA....  sigh  That's my Boy!!
