Atlanta Aquarium
Field trip Friday. Abby decided on Thursday she REALLY wanted to go to the Atlanta Aquarium. I did not know it was listed as the largest Aquarium in the World. It is very nice and very educational. I think each and every time we go it gets better and better. Matthew did not care to much for the trip but we promised next week he could pick a field trip.
We did get to go on a behind the scenes tour of the Penguins. The most interesting point was that the penguins there come from South Africa. Not that I had ever thought of penguins living there. The group had an extensive discussion about this and we watched them feed all the penguins. The whole group was taken out of the restricted area and back to the regular aquarium area. I being the home school Mom I am asked Matthew in review, " Matthew where did those Penguins come from"? Very loudly and in front of the whole group he looks up at me and says... ....................... CALIFORNIA! I am like .... pretending he is not mine. Abby got the answer and we moved on (thank goodness we did not tell the group he was home schooled) Why couldn't he of just said I dont know or Alaska or something? Where did he get California? The whole group just laughed.
I tried to get my adventurous children to touch the sea creatures offered in the touch tanks... they would not have it. I myself touched everything. I called my Mom on the cell phone and told her they did not want to touch anything. I said If I had gone as a little girl, once my Mom's back was turned I would of rolled up my pants taken off my shoes and GOTTEN INTO the touch tank...she laughed and agreed! We know whose genetics those kids have!
Here is the link for the aquarium if anyone is interested. atlanta aquarium
And here is some pics of us. I tried to get some pictures of the kids actually viewing the animals.
