Back to School

Our school  runs year round.  What?? I can hear you all moaning along with the children, but it is not like that.  It is because we take off whenever we want to chase the rabbits so to speak.  For example next week  we are going to Tybee island to study about the local habitat and to dissect squid.  I am sure it will so horrible to have to spend the afternoons playing on the beach (wink).  It is such a joy to be able to school the kids hands on.  This week we did a study on plant tissues and plant reproduction in Biology.  Class moved to the garden.   I know schooling at home is not for everyone.  It does work for us!
Abby looking at some celery we had under the microscope.

Watermelon female and male blossoms.

Matthew is not bothered in the slightest by girl boots.

I wanted them to be able to pick up any flower and name its parts....

That's a fancy professional microscope. Lucky kids!. I see the green celery, what is the red stalk next to it?

Home schooling works for everyone, but not everyone can have that luxury
